In Punjab, extremely heavy rain (120 mm+) is forecast in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Mohali, and Rupnagar. In Haryana, Yamuna Nagar, Ambala, Karnal, Panchkula, and Kaithal are expected to receive intense rainfall.

Delhi-NCR: Monsoon Intensifies

Delhi is set for moderate rain and thunderstorms through Sunday, with daytime temperatures hovering near 35°C. Scattered showers began across the NCR on Saturday and are expected to intensify over the weekend as the monsoon axis shifts closer to the capital.

Maharashtra: Red Alert in Pune, Yellow Alert for Mumbai

Pune’s ghat areas are under red alert for July 6–7, with the IMD forecasting extremely heavy rain. Pune city will see light to moderate rainfall and cloudy skies through July 11.

In Mumbai, a yellow alert is in effect until Monday, with the potential for heavy rain and winds up to 55 km/h. Palghar and Raigad are under orange alert, with Raigad’s warning extending into Monday.

Bengaluru: Windy and Wet Conditions Persist

Bengaluru is expected to see cloudy skies, light to moderate rain, and thunderstorms throughout Sunday. IMD forecasts sustained winds of 40–50 km/h and thunderstorm activity in the afternoon, evening, and night.

Jharkhand: Eastern Districts Under Orange Alert

Parts of eastern Jharkhand—Simdega, Khunti, Gumla, Lohardaga, East and West Singhbhum, and Saraikela-Kharswan—are under an orange alert, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected through Monday morning.

Rajasthan: Sikar Receives Highest Rainfall

Monsoon conditions remain active across Rajasthan. Sikar received the state’s highest rainfall at 45 mm on Saturday. Other regions including Jaipur, Vanasthali, and Kota also saw showers. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to continue across Bharatpur, Jaipur, and Shekhawati regions in the next 2–3 days.

Rain activity is likely to taper off in southern Rajasthan, including parts of Jodhpur, from Sunday.

⚠️ Advisory

The IMD has urged residents in affected areas to stay updated with local forecasts, avoid travel during heavy rain, and remain alert to the risks of landslides, flash floods, and infrastructure damage. Relief and disaster response teams have been deployed in multiple states.
