Four Bomb Squad Personnel Killed in Head-On Collision on NH-44 in Madhya Pradesh
Four members of a bomb disposal squad from Morena were killed early Wednesday when their vehicle collided with a speeding container truck on National Highway-44 near Bandri in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district.
The victims were identified as Pradyuman Dixit, Aman Kaurav, driver Parmal Tomar—all from Morena—and dog handler Vinod Sharma from Bhind. Constable Rajiv Chauhan sustained serious injuries and is being airlifted to Delhi for treatment. The squad’s sniffer dog survived the crash unharmed.
According to police, the team was returning from Balaghat in a bomb disposal vehicle when the truck rammed into it head-on. The impact was so severe that the officers and the driver were trapped inside the mangled vehicle.
“A JCB machine had to be used to cut open the vehicle and retrieve the bodies,” a police official said.
