Epstein’s Leaked Emails Reveal Insults, Alleged Threats Against Trump: 10 Explosive Remarks From Newly Released Messages
More than 20,000 pages of Jeffrey Epstein’s emails and messages, released by a U.S. congressional committee on Wednesday (November 12), show the late financier repeatedly insulting former U.S. President Donald Trump — and even suggesting he had compromising information on him.
The trove of correspondence, spanning at least from 2011 onward, was turned over to Congress by Epstein’s estate following a subpoena. The emails shed new light on the complex and controversial relationship between Trump and Epstein, which has been the subject of public scrutiny for years.
According to The New York Times, the communications reveal Epstein’s efforts to rebuild his image after his conviction, while privately disparaging Trump and hinting at leverage over him.
Here are 10 of the most explosive claims from the released messages:
-
“The dog that hasn’t barked.” — In a 2011 email to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein called Trump “the dog that hasn’t barked,” adding that Virginia Roberts Giuffre had “spent hours at my house” with Trump.
-
“Photos of Donald and girls in bikinis.” — In 2015, Epstein asked journalist Landon Thomas Jr., “Would you like photos of Donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?” It’s unclear if such photos ever existed.
-
“Nose print on the glass.” — Epstein told Thomas that Trump once got so distracted watching young women at a pool that he “bumped into a door, leaving his nose print on the glass.”
-
“Dopey Donald.” — In a 2018 email to journalist Michael Wolff, Epstein mocked Trump as “Dopey Donald” and “Demented Donald,” calling his finances “a sham.”
-
“Borderline insane.” — That same year, he told former U.S. Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers that Trump was “borderline insane.”
-
“I am the one able to take him down.” — When an acquaintance texted that authorities were “just trying to take down Trump,” Epstein replied, “It’s wild — because I am the one able to take him down.”
-
Mar-a-Lago and Ghislaine. — Epstein claimed Trump “knew about the girls” and had asked Ghislaine Maxwell “to stop,” denying Trump’s assertion that he’d ever been a member of Mar-a-Lago.
-
“Came to my house many times.” — In a 2019 email to himself, Epstein wrote that Trump “came to my house many times,” but “never got a massage,” referencing testimony from his houseman.
-
“I know how dirty Donald is.” — In a 2018 email to former Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler, Epstein wrote bluntly: “I know how dirty Donald is.”
-
“Let him hang himself.” — In an exchange with Wolff about CNN’s plan to question Trump on his Epstein ties, Epstein asked how to respond. Wolff replied: “Let him hang himself… If he lies, you can use it later. If he wins, you can save him — generating a debt.”
The revelations, though yet to be independently verified, have reignited debate over the extent of Epstein’s connections with powerful figures, including Trump, as investigators continue to examine the full scope of Epstein’s communications and influence.
