Donald Trump Announces Release of UFO, UAP Files Amid Renewed Epstein Criticism
Former U.S. President Donald Trump said he intends to direct government agencies to begin identifying and releasing files related to unidentified aerial phenomena, extraterrestrial life, and UFOs.
In a post on Truth Social, later amplified by the White House social media account, Trump wrote that the decision was driven by strong public interest.
“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs),” Trump stated.
Trump’s remarks revived long-running public debate over government disclosures involving unexplained aerial sightings. However, past statements from officials, including former President Barack Obama, have typically stopped short of confirming extraterrestrial origins, instead acknowledging the existence of unexplained aerial incidents.
The announcement also drew political reactions online, with some commentators questioning the timing. Critics linked the disclosure pledge to continuing controversy surrounding documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein, arguing that public attention remained focused on that issue.
The handling of Epstein-related records has generated scrutiny for the Justice Department, including questions directed at Attorney General Pam Bondi. Trump has previously dismissed allegations tied to the matter, describing himself as “totally exonerated.”
Separately, Trump commented on legal developments involving Prince Andrew in the United Kingdom, calling the situation “a shame,” but declined to speculate on potential future arrests.
