The COP30 Global Sustainable Insurance Summit will be held at the Casa do Seguro (“House of Insurance”), just steps away from COP30’s main hub in Belém, Brazil, on 10, 15, and 21 November 2025.

Organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in partnership with the Brazilian Insurance Confederation (CNseg), the Summit aims to drive ambition and action across the insurance, financial, regulatory, and supervisory communities. It will also engage policymakers, businesses, scientists, and civil society to accelerate a just transition to inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economies.

Through high-level dialogues, flagship launches, and practical case studies, the Summit will showcase how insurers are embedding sustainability into underwriting and investment portfolios to manage risks, capture opportunities, and enhance resilience. The “House of Insurance” at COP30 will serve as a symbol of inclusiveness, resilience, sustainability, and hope.

Summit Programme:

  • 10 November 2025 – Insurability, Inclusion & Resilience Day

  • 15 November 2025 – Net-Zero, Nature-Positive & Just Transition Day

  • 21 November 2025 – Latin American Leadership & COP31 Day

A highlight of the 15 November session will be the launch of the third deliverable of the Forum for Insurance Transition to Net Zero (FIT) Transition Plan Project, titled “A Total Balance Sheet Transition”. This guide offers a holistic, organization-wide approach to linking underwriting and investment portfolios, helping insurers and reinsurers plan integrated transitions across the sector.
