Cindy Singh Arrested by FBI After Allegedly Fleeing to India in Son’s Murder Case
Cindy Rodriguez Singh, a Texas woman wanted for the murder of her six-year-old son, has been arrested, FBI Director Kash Patel announced Thursday.
Singh, who was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list with a $250,000 reward for information, faces charges of capital murder of a person under 10 and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Patel said she had lied to investigators about her son’s whereabouts before fleeing the U.S. “Two days later, she boarded a flight to India — and we believe she has not been back since,” Patel wrote on X.
It was not immediately clear where Singh was arrested.
Her son, Noel Alvarez, was last seen in October 2022 but wasn’t reported missing until March 2023. That month, Texas authorities conducted a welfare check after receiving reports of concern. Singh allegedly told investigators Noel was in Mexico with his biological father, though police later determined the claim was false.
Days later, Singh boarded a flight to India with her husband, Arshdeep Singh, and six of her children — but Noel was not among them.
Months after she left the U.S., Singh was indicted on capital murder charges in Texas, and a warrant was issued for her arrest in November 2023
