Brad Pitt Buys $12 Million Spanish-Style Mansion in LA from The Killers’ Guitarist

Oscar-winning actor Brad Pitt has added another luxurious property to his real estate portfolio, purchasing a $12 million Spanish-style estate in Los Angeles from Dave Keuning, lead guitarist of the rock band The Killers. The sale, first reported by The Wall Street Journal on August 5, marks Pitt’s latest high-profile acquisition in Southern California.

A Star-Studded Neighborhood

Located in the exclusive Outpost Estates enclave in the Hollywood Hills—a neighborhood popular with celebrities such as Orlando Bloom and Ben Affleck—the property was built in 1989 and blends classic Spanish architecture with modern updates. It was listed in June with a $13.999 million asking price, according to Zillow.

Renovated by Keuning Couple

Dave Keuning and his wife, interior designer Emilie Keuning, bought the home in 2021 for around $9.6 million from Grindr founder Joel Simkhai. During their ownership, the Keunings undertook renovations that enhanced both the property’s design and livability.

Expanding His LA Footprint

The acquisition adds to Pitt’s extensive real estate holdings, particularly in the Los Angeles area. In 2023, he sold his longtime Los Feliz compound—once home to him, Angelina Jolie, and their six children—for $33 million. Over the years, he had expanded that property by acquiring more than 20 neighboring lots.

That same year, Pitt purchased a mid-century modern home nearby for $5.5 million.

Coastal Investments and Hollywood Career

Outside of Los Angeles, Pitt also made headlines in 2022 by buying a $40 million estate in the Carmel Highlands, one of the most expensive residential deals ever in that region.

While his real estate activity continues to make news, Pitt remains active in Hollywood. He recently starred in F1: The Movie, a racing drama that has performed strongly at the global box office.
