Bomb Threats Trigger Evacuations at Multiple Delhi Schools

Several schools across the national capital received bomb threats via phone calls on Saturday morning, prompting evacuations and sweeping security checks.

Among those targeted were Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya. Police teams and bomb disposal squads were dispatched to the sites, and searches are ongoing.

DPS Dwarka announced it would remain closed for the day, postponing mid-term examinations. “All school buses and private vans are being sent back immediately… Parents are requested to pick up their wards,” the school said in a circular.

Police confirmed that all students and staff at the affected schools were safely evacuated.

The threats follow a string of similar hoaxes this month. On September 9, bomb scare emails triggered evacuations at University College of Medical Sciences, Maulana Azad Medical College, and even the Delhi Chief Minister’s Secretariat. All were later declared safe.

While none of the recent threats have proved credible, Delhi Police said each is being treated with “utmost seriousness” as investigations continue to trace their source.
