Bomb Threats Rattle Nearly 100 Schools Across India; Bengaluru and Delhi on High Alert

A wave of bomb threats targeting schools swept across India on Friday, with at least 40 schools in Bengaluru receiving alarming emails, just hours after nearly 50 schools in Delhi reported similar threats — marking an escalating security concern and the fourth consecutive day of such alerts in the national capital.

🔴 Bengaluru Schools on Edge

According to reports, private schools in areas such as Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Kengeri were among the latest targets. Bengaluru City Police responded swiftly, deploying multiple search and bomb squad teams across affected campuses.

An email titled “Bombs inside the school”, sent from the ID roadkill333@atomicmail.io, claimed that TNT explosives were planted in schools. The message included violent and disturbing language, concluding with:

“You all deserve to suffer. I truly hate my life.”

🔴 Pattern Mirrors Delhi Scare

Earlier the same morning, nearly 50 Delhi schools, including St. Xavier’s (Civil Lines), Richmond Global School (Paschim Vihar), Abhinav Public School (Rohini), and The Sovereign School (Rohini), received similar threats.

Delhi Police confirmed that 60 schools in the capital have been targeted with bomb hoaxes over the past week. So far, no explosives have been found, and all threats have been declared false alarms after extensive sweeps.

🕵️‍♂️ Investigation Facing Digital Hurdles

Authorities suspect the emails originated from encrypted networks or VPNs, complicating efforts to trace the source.

“Tracking someone on the dark web is like chasing a shadow in a room full of mirrors,” a Delhi Police officer told PTI, emphasizing the high level of anonymity shielding the sender.

⚠️ What We Know So Far:

  • Nearly 100 schools across India have received bomb threats this week.

  • 60 in Delhi and 40+ in Bengaluru have been confirmed as recipients.

  • All alerts so far have turned out to be hoaxes, but investigations remain ongoing.

  • Emails were sent from anonymous IDs using encrypted networks.

  • Authorities are treating this as a serious national security concern.

📌 The Bigger Picture

While no physical harm has occurred, the psychological toll on students, parents, and school staff is mounting. The coordinated nature of the threats suggests a possible attempt to create panic, disrupt education, or test the resilience of security protocols.

Central agencies have now been roped in, and cyber forensics teams are working to trace digital footprints and identify any patterns.
