Bomb Threats Emailed to Two Delhi Schools; Police Find Nothing Suspicious So Far

Two Delhi schools—one in Chanakyapuri and another in Dwarka—received bomb threats via email on Monday, prompting swift emergency responses.

Delhi Police confirmed that no suspicious items have been found during the searches so far. “The threat was sent to two schools through email. Nothing suspicious has been found during the search,” police said in a statement quoted by ANI.

The incidents come months after the Directorate of Education (DoE) rolled out a 115-point Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for handling bomb threats, following a Delhi High Court directive. The SOP, applicable to all schools across Delhi, stresses mock drills, surveillance, strict access control, and prompt coordination with authorities.

The SOP outlines four stages—prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery—and mandates immediate evacuation using pre-identified routes, support for students with disabilities, and post-incident counselling.

While many private schools claim to follow the guidelines, parent groups have raised concerns over infrastructure gaps and called for greater transparency in SOP implementation to ensure student safety.
