Bollywood Actor Huma Qureshi’s Cousin Killed in Delhi After Parking Dispute; Two Arrested
Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi’s cousin, 42-year-old Asif Qureshi, was allegedly murdered on Thursday night in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area following a quarrel over a parked scooter, according to police.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. when Asif reportedly asked a neighbour not to park a two-wheeler in front of his home’s main entrance. The argument escalated, and Asif was attacked with a sharp “poker-type” weapon, sustaining a serious chest injury. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police have arrested two suspects — Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18) — both residents of the same lane as Asif.
Asif, who ran a chicken business, is survived by his two wives. One of them, Shaheen, told NDTV that the dispute began when a neighbour refused to move his scooter and returned with his brother to stab Asif. “By the time help arrived, he had lost a lot of blood,” she said.
Huma Qureshi’s father and Asif’s uncle, Saleem Qureshi, also described the killing as the result of a verbal argument that turned violent.
The Delhi Police have registered a case under sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway.
The actor has not yet commented publicly on the incident.
