Bihar Elections 2025: Exit Polls Predict NDA Win; RJD, Congress Dismiss Projections
With results for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections set to be declared on Friday, most exit polls have forecast a clear victory for the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Leaders of the BJP-JD(U) alliance have welcomed the projections, while opposition leaders from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Jan Suraaj have dismissed them as unreliable.
Union Minister Nityanand Rai told ANI that the people of Bihar had given their “seal of approval for the NDA government,” adding that the alliance would “win even more seats than predicted.”
“In Bihar, the influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s record of good governance is evident,” he said.

Opposition Pushes Back
RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav questioned the accuracy of the exit polls, saying his party’s internal assessment suggested the NDA was “nervous and anxious.”
“The NDA is restless because of the kind of voting that took place,” he said, alleging that exit polls were released even while voting was still underway.
“People stood in long queues till 6 or 7 pm. But while voting was still going on, exit polls started coming out,” Tejashwi told reporters.
Congress Urges Caution
Congress general secretary (organisation) K. C. Venugopal cautioned against reading too much into the exit polls, citing recent discrepancies.
“Exit polls in Haryana predicted a landslide victory for Congress — but what happened? Let’s wait for the real results,” he said.
Congress MP Digvijaya Singh went further, alleging manipulation.
“If the NDA wins more than 140 seats, it will be due to a manipulated voter list and EVMs,” he claimed, asserting that his ground assessment showed “an equal fight.”
The official counting of votes will take place on Friday, setting the stage for a closely watched verdict that could redefine Bihar’s political landscape.
