Bhushan Kumar Confirms Diljit Dosanjh’s Exit from Future Bollywood Projects After Border 2

In a dramatic development in the entertainment industry, producer Bhushan Kumar confirmed that singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh will not be part of any future projects under his banner following ongoing tensions. The actor has, however, been permitted to complete his remaining scenes and songs for the film Border 2, after which he will be officially blacklisted from the production house’s future collaborations.

The controversy stems from Dosanjh’s decision to prioritize international releases of his Punjabi-language films, especially Sardaar Ji 3, which was distributed through global platforms instead of mainstream Indian theatrical circuits. This move triggered backlash within Bollywood, with some accusing the artist of showing disregard for Hindi cinema audiences.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees had earlier issued a non-cooperation directive against Dosanjh. While this was partially lifted to allow completion of Border 2, Bhushan Kumar publicly stated that the decision was one-time and final.

The final song sequence, which was shot in Rajasthan this week, is reportedly Dosanjh’s last collaboration with Bhushan Kumar’s production house. Insiders say the two sides tried resolving the dispute, but discussions broke down over creative and contractual differences.

Despite this, Dosanjh remains popular among his fans and has a growing global presence, especially in North America and the UK. The fallout reflects a broader rift between mainstream Bollywood producers and independent regional superstars who are increasingly taking control of their global distribution.
