Bhavna Bajaj, a resident of Lajpat Nagar, has won her consumer complaint against a Subway outlet in Lajpat Nagar-II after she found a live worm in the Veg Shammi Sandwich she had ordered. The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission–II, New Delhi, held the outlet guilty of serving stale and unsafe food, calling it a case of gross negligence.

The Commission has directed Eversub India Pvt. Ltd. to pay ₹20,000 in compensation within three months for the physical and mental distress caused.

The case was represented by Advocate Mridula Sharma of Lex Jurists, whose efforts helped secure the verdict in Bajaj’s favour.

The ruling underscores the importance of food safety and highlights the strength of consumer rights.
