Beijing Urges US to Stop Hyping ‘China Threat Theory’

China on Thursday urged the United States to “stop hyping” the narrative of a China threat, after a US intelligence report suggested that Beijing has no plans to invade the self-ruled island of Taiwan next year.

“The US should… speak and act cautiously on the Taiwan issue,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a press briefing. He added that Washington should “correct its understanding of China, and stop hyping up the China threat theory.”
