Ayushmann Khurrana-Rashmika Mandanna Horror Comedy ‘Thamma’ Crosses ₹100 Crore Worldwide in Five Days

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror comedy Thamma has achieved a major box office milestone, crossing ₹100 crore worldwide within just five days of release. The film, part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), opened strongly on Diwali, experienced a slight weekday dip, but has now bounced back over the weekend.

Box Office Performance

• On Saturday (Day 5), the film saw a 30% jump in domestic earnings, netting ₹13 crore compared to ₹10 crore on Day 4.

• Its total domestic collection now stands at ₹78.60 crore net (₹94.25 crore gross).

• Thamma had opened at ₹24 crore net on Diwali. After drops over the next three days, it is expected to continue a strong weekend recovery.

Overseas Collections

• The film had a slower start internationally, as Diwali is not a public holiday in most countries.

• Collections picked up from Thursday to Saturday, with Thamma earning just under $2 million overseas.

• This brings its worldwide earnings to ₹110 crore by Saturday.

Milestones

• Thamma became the fourth Maddock horror comedy to cross ₹100 crore, joining Stree, Stree 2, and Munjya.

• It has surpassed the lifetime collections of Varun Dhawan-Kriti Sanon’s Bhediya, which earned ₹95 crore worldwide in 2022.
