Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work ethic, saying he has not taken a single holiday in the past 24 years. In an interview with NDTV, Shah — a long-time aide and confidant of Modi — described the prime minister’s commitment as unparalleled in Indian politics.

“I have seen only one person who hasn’t taken a holiday in the last 24 years, and that is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. That kind of dedication doesn’t just happen; it reflects a mindset of complete devotion to public service,” Shah said.

He further lauded Modi as the “most popular prime minister” India has ever seen, enjoying wide support both domestically and globally. “India and the world believe that PM Modi is the most popular prime minister so far. PM Modi has been the longest-serving when it comes to being a prime minister and a chief minister,” Shah added.

On foreign policy, Shah said Modi gave India “a spine” that was lacking earlier. “When historians compare different PMs, I strongly believe they’ll find the biggest achievements under PM Modi’s tenure. India’s foreign policy was spineless earlier. It’s Modi who gave it a spine,” he said.

Reflecting on Modi’s journey, Shah recalled his evolution from a local party worker to Gujarat’s chief minister and then India’s most popular prime minister. He said he has personally witnessed Modi’s diligence and ability to expand his vision with every new role, given their overlapping political careers in Gujarat.
