Amid Death Rumours, PTI Senator Says Imran Khan ‘Alive’ but Under Pressure to Leave Pakistan

Amid swirling rumours about former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan’s death, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker has insisted that the jailed leader is alive and being held in isolation at Adiala Jail. PTI Senator Khurram Zeeshan claimed on Saturday that Khan is facing pressure to leave the country, even as his family publicly demands “proof of life.”

Speculation over Khan’s fate has intensified over the past week after his son Kasim Khan and sister repeatedly asked authorities to confirm he is alive. The concerns deepened when his sisters were denied visitation rights despite court orders.

“My father has been under arrest for 845 days. For the past six weeks, he has been kept in solitary confinement in a death cell with zero transparency,” Kasim said on Friday, adding that there have been “no phone calls, no meetings and no proof of life.”

‘He is okay,’ says PTI senator

Speaking to ANI, Zeeshan dismissed the rumours of Khan’s death and confirmed that the former prime minister remains in Adiala Jail. He said Khan has been isolated as part of an attempt to coerce him into going into exile.

“It’s been almost a month of isolation. His family, his lawyers, and even senior PTI leadership have not been allowed to meet him. This is a complete violation of human rights,” Zeeshan said. “It seems they are trying to force him into something.”

He added that PTI leaders and Khan’s legal team had been “guaranteed” that he is alive.

According to Zeeshan, authorities have attempted to strike a deal offering Khan concessions if he agrees to leave Pakistan and remain silent abroad. “But Imran Khan will never agree to it. The kind of leader he is, he will never approve it,” he said.
