Akshaye Khanna Exits Drishyam 3 Following Ranveer Singh’s Departure From Don 3
Just a day after reports emerged of Ranveer Singh stepping away from Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated Don 3, Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna appears to have followed suit, exiting another major project.
According to Bollywood Machine, Akshaye has walked out of Drishyam 3, the sequel to the 2022 blockbuster Drishyam 2. The actor, fresh off his hit performance in Dhurandhar, reportedly cited a mix of creative and financial disagreements as the reason for his departure.
Sources suggest Akshaye had requested a “substantial hike” in remuneration following the success of Dhurandhar. In addition, he sought significant changes to his on-screen look for Drishyam 3, which reportedly led to friction with the production team. Negotiations ultimately reached a stalemate, prompting him to step away from the project.
Neither Akshaye nor the makers of Drishyam 3 have issued an official statement, but news of the exit has already created a stir online, especially in the wake of Ranveer’s exit from Don 3.
Akshaye Khanna’s recent success
In Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar, Akshaye Khanna’s portrayal of Rehman Dakait—the cold, calculated leader of the Baloch Gang and founder of the People’s Aman Committee—has been widely praised. Critics are calling it one of the finest performances in Bollywood this year, cementing his place as a standout actor in the industry.
