Bigg Boss 20 Is a ‘Divorcee Special’, Says Mahhi Vij, Calling Her, Isha Rikhi and Mary Kom’s ‘Second Innings’

Bigg Boss 20 has kicked off with plenty of drama, as contestants opened up about their personal lives, engaged in heated arguments and began forming alliances from the very first day.

Amid the chaos, television actor Mahhi Vij was seen attempting to discuss the divorces of fellow contestants Isha Rikhi and Mary Kom, despite both showing reluctance to talk about the subject. Mahhi’s remarks also drew attention after she described the season as a “divorcee special”.

Mahhi Vij calls Bigg Boss her ‘second innings’

Mahhi, who separated from actor Jay Bhanushali last year, was asked by Kanika whether she was single but declined to discuss her personal life.

Later, while speaking with Isha about the kind of conversations she enjoys, Mahhi said she likes gossip before turning the discussion towards relationships among the contestants.

“Tell me who has an affair with whom outside. Teen to divorcee aa rakhi hai set pe, tu, main aur woh boxer (Mary Kom). Second innings to humari chal rahi hai, divorcee special,” Mahhi said.

She later asked Isha why she decided to enter Bigg Boss. Isha explained that she had always maintained a private life and wanted people to know her for her own identity rather than as someone’s girlfriend or wife.

When Isha said she wanted to be recognised by her own name, Mahhi pointed out that she had been widely discussed online over the previous two months.

Later in the episode, Mahhi attempted to ask Mary Kom about her divorce, but the boxing legend declined to discuss it. Mahhi then remarked that there was no need to speak negatively about an ex-partner and that there could also be positive aspects to a past relationship.

Isha appeared upset by the repeated discussion and questioned why Mahhi was so keen to make them talk about a subject they clearly did not want to discuss.

Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali’s separation

Mahhi and Jay Bhanushali married in 2011 after dating for some time. The couple later fostered two children, Rajveer and Khushi, in 2017 and welcomed their daughter Tara in 2019.

Rumours of trouble in their marriage surfaced over the years, particularly as they were seen together less frequently. Mahhi initially chose not to comment on the speculation.

In January 2026, the couple announced that they had separated after 14 years of marriage. They said they had decided to part ways while continuing to support each other and co-parent their daughter.

Isha Rikhi’s marriage and separation

Isha Rikhi kept her relationship with rapper Badshah largely private until reports about their marriage emerged in 2026. Wedding photographs surfaced online in March after Isha’s mother shared glimpses of the private ceremony.

The couple reportedly separated around five months after their marriage.

Mary Kom’s divorce

Boxing champion Mary Kom married Karung Onkholer, popularly known as Onler, in 2005 after the two met in Delhi. They went on to have four children.

The couple quietly ended their marriage in December 2023 under customary Kom law, with the separation finalised through mutual consent in the presence of their families and community elders. Mary publicly confirmed the separation in 2025.

Bigg Boss 20 premiered on September 6, with Salman Khan introducing the season’s 16 contestants. A captaincy task has already taken place, with Qazi Touqeer serving as the sanchalak.

While some viewers have criticised the cast as a “weak lineup”, the contestants have already delivered plenty of drama, arguments and personal revelations in the opening episode, keeping fans engaged.
