Airtel, M&M lead 300-points loss in Sensex; Nifty below 23,700

The Nifty50 and the Sensex fell as investors weighed the oil price outlook and central banks’ policy action amid simmering US-Iran tension.

As of 10:00 AM, the Sensex fell 397.70 points or 0.52 per cent to 75,735.11 and the Nifty50 was down 109.35 points or 0.46 per cent at 23,669.80.

Shriram Finance, HCL Technologies, and Tech Mahindra were the top losers in the Nifty50.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap fell 0.17 per cent and 0.01 per cent, respectively

Sector-wise, the Nifty Auto and the Nifty Realty underperformed, while the Nifty Metal and the Nifty Media outperformed.
