CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke demands PM Modi apologise over police action during Sansad March

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apologise for the alleged police action against students during the July 20 Sansad March in Delhi, a day after the Prime Minister said he was forgiving protesters who had used abusive language against him.

In a video posted on X, Dipke referred to Modi’s recent message calling the protesters “misguided children” and expressed hope that the Prime Minister would issue another statement apologising for the alleged use of force by police during the demonstration.

“Yesterday, we saw Modi Ji’s video in which he said he was forgiving the children. I hope he uploads another video apologising for the lathi charge on July 20. Twelve-year-old girls were allegedly hit on the head, women’s clothes were torn, and girls were beaten on their private parts,” Dipke claimed.

He said the Prime Minister should apologise to those who were allegedly subjected to police brutality during the protest.

PM Modi appeals for forgiveness

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he was forgiving students who allegedly hurled abuses at him and his late mother during the Jantar Mantar protest, describing them as “misguided children” who need guidance rather than punishment.

In a video message shared on social media, Modi condemned the language used by some protesters as unacceptable in a civilised society but urged people not to pursue vengeance.

“These are misguided children, and showing them the right path is our duty. We cannot change circumstances by punishing them or dragging them through legal battles,” he said.

Drawing an analogy, the Prime Minister said that just as people do not break their teeth after accidentally biting their tongue, society should not reject its own children for their mistakes.

He also invited the students to move beyond the controversy and contribute to nation-building, saying, “Come, let us move forward together for the country. Let us learn from our mistakes and build a brighter future.”

Modi’s remarks came the same day that a Zero FIR was registered over a viral video in which a young woman was allegedly seen using abusive language against the Prime Minister during the Jantar Mantar protest.
