Diana Penty stuns in Manish Malhotra and Amit Aggarwal looks at Cannes 2026

Diana Penty turned heads at the Cannes Film Festival with two dramatically different fashion statements on May 17, effortlessly moving from regal Indian elegance to futuristic couture glamour.

For her appearance at the Bharat Pavilion, Diana wore a custom gold saree by Manish Malhotra that blended traditional craftsmanship with contemporary structure. The shimmering metallic knit saree featured intricate detailing and a sculpted blouse with dramatic puffed sleeves and a plunging neckline, giving the classic silhouette a modern couture twist.

An ivory embellished pallu added softness and movement to the rich gold ensemble, while Diana kept the styling understated with softly tousled hair, bronzed makeup and nude lips, allowing the saree’s craftsmanship to take centre stage.

Later, Diana switched gears entirely in a bold couture creation by Amit Aggarwal for the Cannes red carpet. The red-toned sculptural gown featured a plunging neckline, body-contouring silhouette and dramatic architectural elements cascading from the shoulders and waist.

The ensemble’s textured metallic finish and abstract detailing gave it a molten, futuristic aesthetic, while a thigh-high slit added a sultry edge. Diana completed the look with wet-look side-parted hair, smoky eyes, nude lips and delicate diamond jewellery, embracing an edgy high-fashion vibe.
