Aamir Khan celebrated his 61st birthday on March 14 with a warm, intimate gathering at home, surrounded by family and close friends. The celebration included his partner Gauri Spratt and his children — Junaid Khan, Ira Khan and Azad Rao Khan — making it a cosy family affair. His former wife and filmmaker Kiran Rao was also present.

Later on Saturday, former India cricketer Irfan Pathan shared a glimpse of the celebration on Instagram. Pathan attended the gathering with his wife, former model Safa Baig.
In the video, Aamir is seen cutting his birthday cake as guests around him clap and cheer. The clip offers a glimpse of the relaxed celebration, with a spread of home-cooked dishes placed on the table. Ira, Junaid and Azad appear dressed casually in jeans and T-shirts, while Gauri is seen wearing a green outfit. Aamir also kept it simple in a striped T-shirt paired with black pants.
The video also captured a playful moment when Ira used a lighter in place of a candle before Aamir blew it out. She later smeared a bit of cake cream on his face. Aamir first fed cake to Azad, followed by Ira, Gauri and then Junaid.
Sharing the clip, Irfan wrote: “Wishing a very Happy Birthday to Aamir bhai. Also wonderful to see Ira Khan doing impactful work through Agatsu Foundation, spreading awareness and support for mental health.”
Clips of guests leaving the intimate gathering later surfaced online. One video showed Kiran Rao leaving in a car with Aamir and Gauri. Another clip captured Aamir’s former wife Reena Dutta leaving with their son Junaid.
Several of Aamir’s friends and colleagues also shared birthday wishes on social media. Kiran Rao reposted a birthday video shared by Aamir’s production house and wrote, “HBD to my forever Sikander.”
Actor Kajol, who has worked with Aamir in films such as Fanaa, Ishq and Salaam Venky, also wished him with a throwback photo on her Instagram Stories.
Aamir Khan’s recent work
Last year, Aamir returned to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par after the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha. Directed by R. S. Prasanna and produced by Aamir along with Aparna Purohit, the film was described as a spiritual successor to his 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par.
He also made a cameo appearance in Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir and Upendra.
Among his upcoming projects, Aamir is backing the period drama Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starring Sunny Deol. He also produced the Vir Das-directed Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which released on January 16 and earned around ₹6.21 crore at the box office, featuring Aamir in a cameo.
In addition, Aamir is producing the romantic drama Ek Din starring his son Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi. The film is scheduled to release on May 1, 2026.
