Keir Starmer may send thousands of interceptor drones to the Middle East, The Telegraph reported on Saturday.
Military officials are examining whether the “Octopus” interceptor anti-drone system — manufactured in the UK and currently supplied to Ukraine for use against Russia — could also be deployed to strengthen British defenses in the region against Iran’s Shahed drones.
The report said the system, designed to intercept and destroy incoming drones, could help counter the growing threat posed by Iranian-made Shahed loitering munitions.
Reuters said it could not immediately verify the report.
