Iran has claimed that a US F-15 fighter jet crashed in Kuwait, with videos circulating on social media purportedly showing an American pilot ejecting moments before the aircraft went down.

Footage widely shared online appears to show a parachute descending, while other clips carried by local outlets show a man believed to be the pilot on the ground after ejecting. There has been no immediate official confirmation regarding the cause of the crash or the condition of the crew. It also remains unclear whether the aircraft was on a combat mission or a training sortie at the time.

Further details are awaited from US and Kuwaiti authorities.

Iran-US conflict

The latest escalation between the United States and Iran followed coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory aimed at targeting Tehran’s missile and military infrastructure. The operation reportedly killed senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, triggering a wave of retaliatory drone and missile attacks by Tehran against US assets and allied positions across the Gulf.

Iran’s counterstrikes have extended to several countries in the region, with missiles and drones reportedly intercepted over Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. The flare-up has led to temporary airspace closures and military as well as civilian casualties.

US forces have responded with countermeasures, including naval operations, marking one of the most intense confrontations between the two countries in recent decades.
