Raveena Tandon dismisses claims that daughter Rasha Thadani planted negative PR against fellow star kids

Actor Raveena Tandon has addressed rumours suggesting that her daughter Rasha Thadani used negative PR tactics to gain attention following the release of the song Uyi Amma. The speculation had surfaced online, with some social media users alleging that Rasha’s team fuelled negative narratives about other star kids to boost her own visibility.

Raveena Tandon responds to rumours

Speaking on the Zoom Spotlight podcast, Raveena Tandon firmly dismissed the claims, calling them baseless and inconsistent with her family’s values. She noted that the chatter began after Uyi Amma gained traction, triggering comparisons between Rasha and other young actors.

Without naming anyone, Raveena emphasised that many of those being compared are “still children,” adding that several star kids have grown up around her and are the children of close friends. She expressed concern over how innocent comparisons quickly escalated into toxic online debates and fan wars.

Raveena pointed out that while some users praised Rasha and others supported different actors, a significant portion of commentary turned negative and speculative. She said that when trolling targeted other star kids, some individuals even accused Rasha of orchestrating the negativity as a publicity strategy.

Rejecting the accusation, Raveena said such behaviour would be completely out of character for her family.

“All through my career, I never had a PR person. It is so unlike us, our family, to go ahead and negate our own friends’ children — the children who we have seen grow up,” she said.

She also spoke about the broader culture of rumours surrounding celebrities, questioning the tendency to attribute controversies to PR machinery.

“These rumours spread very easily. Someone says, ‘Oh, this must be their PR machinery.’ What PR machinery? Nobody is that vile and wicked that they will put one person down to show themselves up,” Raveena added.

Rasha Thadani’s career trajectory

Rasha Thadani made her acting debut with Azaad, directed by Abhishek Kapoor. Although the film did not perform strongly at the box office, Rasha drew attention for her dance performance in Uyi Amma.

She has since expanded her portfolio, making her singing debut with the song Chaap Tilak from Laikey Laikaa, alongside Abhay Verma. The film, written and directed by Saurabh Gupta, is slated for release later this year. Rasha has also announced her entry into Telugu cinema, marking another step in her early career.

Amid growing public interest, Raveena’s remarks underscore her attempt to shield young actors from what she views as unfair speculation and online hostility.
