Indian benchmark indices — BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty — were volatile on Wednesday as markets turn stock-specific amid the Q3FY26 results season.

Besides, deteriorating geopolitical conditions, and ambiguity over US-India trade deal is limiting any upside.

Around 10 AM, the BSE Sensex index was trading around 83,647, up 19 points or 0.02 per cent. The index has hit a high of 83,715.93 and a low of 83,288.13, so far, in the session.

The Nifty50, meanwhile, was at 25,727, down 5 points or 0.02 per cent. The index has touched a high of 25,761.50 and a low of 25,638.35 during the day.

Asian Paints, TCS, Bajaj Finserv, Sun Pharma, HUL, HCL Tech, IndiGo, Ultratech Cement, Tech M, Power Grid, Kotak Bank, and Adani Ports, and Maruti Suzuki were the top losers on the Sensex today.

On the higher side, NTPC, BEL, Tata Steel, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Trent, HDFC Bank, RIL, and M&M were the gainers.

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index added 0.05 per cent, and the Nifty SmallCap index 0.51 per cent.

Among sectors, the Nifty Metal index advanced 1.5 per cent, followed by gains in the Nifty Oil and Gas index (up 0.37 per cent). On the flipside, the Nifty Realty fell 1 per cent, and the Nifty Pharma 0.4 per cent.
