India Issues Travel Advisory for Nationals Visiting Thailand-Cambodia Border Areas
The Indian Embassy in Bangkok has issued a travel advisory urging Indian nationals to exercise caution while visiting areas near the Thailand-Cambodia border amid reports of heavy fighting between the two countries.
The advisory clarified that tourism across Thailand remains largely unaffected. However, heightened security measures have been put in place in seven border provinces, with curfews imposed in select districts. Travellers have been advised to avoid restricted zones and closely follow updates issued by local authorities and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
Security Tightened in Seven Provinces
According to the TAT, security has been reinforced in Ubon Ratchathani, Si Sa Ket, Surin, Buri Ram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi and Trat provinces.
Martial law is currently in force in several districts of Chanthaburi, Trat and Sa Kaeo. In addition, a curfew from 7 pm to 5 am has been imposed in four border districts of Sa Kaeo since December 10, 2025.
Transport Services Largely Unaffected
