Composer Palash Muchhal has deleted all videos featuring Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana from his social media, a day after both confirmed that their wedding had been called off. The removed posts include the widely shared video of Palash proposing to Smriti at a cricket stadium — a moment that had gone viral after India’s Women’s World Cup triumph.

Proposal and Celebrations Now Deleted

Videos of Palash proposing to Smriti at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium and celebrating India’s World Cup win with her have disappeared from his Instagram profile. The couple, who had reportedly been planning to marry on November 24 in Smriti’s hometown, Sangli, had shared these posts just last month.

Wedding Postponed Amid Family Illness, Rumours

On the morning of the wedding, Smriti’s manager informed the media that the ceremony had been postponed indefinitely due to her father’s sudden illness. As celebrations came to a halt, Palash and his family returned to Mumbai, where he was briefly hospitalised due to stress.

Soon after, rumours circulated alleging that Palash had been caught cheating with a choreographer during the pre-wedding festivities. Both choreographers present at the event publicly denied the claims.

Smriti and Palash Issue Statements

On Sunday, Smriti Mandhana posted an Instagram Story announcing that the wedding had been called off, requesting privacy for both families during what she described as a sensitive time.

Simultaneously, Palash shared a statement confirming the cancellation. “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship,” he wrote.

Addressing the speculation surrounding the breakup, he added:
“It’s been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me. It’s the most difficult phase of my life, and I will deal with it gracefully. I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.”

Families Seek Privacy

Sources close to both families have said they are deeply distressed by the events and have requested that the media refrain from amplifying unverified claims.
