Miley Cyrus Confirms Engagement to Maxx Morando After Four Years of Dating

Pop star Miley Cyrus has confirmed her engagement to longtime partner Maxx Morando, ending weeks of speculation sparked by her eye-catching diamond ring at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in Los Angeles. The couple has been dating for four years.

The news, confirmed by outlets including Page Six and People, comes after the 33-year-old singer and 27-year-old musician posed together on the red carpet at the world premiere of the film on Monday. Miley’s song Dream As One is featured in the movie.

Cyrus flaunted a stunning cushion-cut diamond ring set on a thick 14-karat yellow gold band designed by Jacquie Aiche, drawing attention in every photo. She later confirmed the engagement to People, saying she is “astounded” and very happy in this phase of her life.

“The detail that I can share is that for us, our privacy and us kind of keeping it small has been something that I’ve been astounded that I’ve actually been able to have and being able to kind of have more choice,” Miley said, highlighting how her approach to sharing personal milestones has evolved with age.

She also connected the timing of the engagement to the themes of Avatar: Fire and Ash, calling it “about love, family resilience and kind of reconnection and that stronger together idea,” and said it felt “perfectly thematic and aligned with where I am in my life now.”

Miley was first spotted wearing the ring in mid-November, including during her birthday dinner. Maxx Morando, drummer for the band Liily, and Miley were first linked romantically in December 2021, photographed backstage during Miley’s holiday special in Miami. By April 2022, their relationship appeared confirmed when they were spotted kissing in West Hollywood.

Miley Cyrus was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth from December 2018 to August 2019.
