Nitish Kumar Thanks Bihar Voters and PM Modi After Taking Oath for Record 10th Term
Nitish Kumar, who was sworn in as Bihar’s chief minister for a record 10th time on Thursday, thanked the people of the state and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while reaffirming the NDA government’s commitment to accelerating development and placing Bihar among India’s most advanced states.
The JD(U) chief set multiple milestones, becoming Bihar’s longest-serving chief minister and securing a mandate for a fifth consecutive term.
“In the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, I took oath as Chief Minister of Bihar’s newly elected government. On this special occasion, I extend my salutations and heartfelt gratitude to the people of Bihar,” Kumar wrote on X.
He reiterated his pledge to continue working with “full commitment” for the state’s progress. “With a resolve for Bihar’s all-round development, the NDA government, with support from the Centre, will work with complete dedication. I am confident that with the cooperation and blessings of the people, we will place Bihar among the most developed states in the country,” he added.
This was Kumar’s fourth swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, held in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, and several chief ministers from NDA-ruled states.
“I express my sincere thanks and gratitude to Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for attending today’s swearing-in ceremony,” he said, also welcoming union ministers and visiting chief ministers.
Kumar was administered the oath by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, alongside 26 ministers from the five constituent parties of the NDA coalition.
BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were sworn in as Bihar’s deputy chief ministers.
