Delhi School Gets Bomb Threat Email; Police Term It a Hoax as Security Remains Tight After Red Fort Blast

A private school in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri received a bomb threat email on Thursday morning, prompting an immediate police response and internal security checks. After investigating, Delhi Police confirmed that the threat was a hoax.

The incident comes just a week after the terror blast near Red Fort that killed over 10 people, keeping the national capital on high alert.

Earlier this week, major court complexes — Patiala House, Saket, Rohini, and Tis Hazari — were temporarily evacuated following similar threat emails. Two Delhi schools also received bomb alerts, all of which were later declared false alarms.

“We received an email stating bombs are planted in different courts. This included Delhi district courts and two CRPF schools in Dwarka and Prashant Vihar,” a police officer had said earlier.

City Still on Edge After Red Fort Terror Attack

On November 10, a slow-moving Hyundai i20 exploded near Gate No. 1 of the Lal Quila Metro Station, close to Red Fort. The explosion, officially classified as a terror attack, killed more than 10 people and left many injured.

In the aftermath of the blast — and following the recent exposure of a white-collar terror module in Faridabad — authorities continue to maintain heightened vigilance across Delhi-NCR.
