Delhi Woman Recalls Harassment by Self-Styled Godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati, Who Faces Multiple Molestation Allegations
A woman who accused self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Swami Parthasarathy, of molestation in 2016 has described him as having “vulture-like eyes,” recounting what she called the most distressing period of her life.
The 62-year-old godman is now facing allegations from 17 students at his private management institute in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Kunj.
According to her 2016 FIR, the complainant, then 20, said she left the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management within eight months due to repeated harassment. She alleged that Chaitanyananda sent obscene messages, calling her “baby” and “sweet girl,” and summoned her to his office after classes ended around 6:30 pm.
“He would even talk about taking me out to dinner and staying in fancy hotels. I was terrified,” she recalled, adding that he attempted inappropriate touching and invited her to travel with him to Mathura. She claimed his staff pressured her to comply while he confiscated her phone and isolated her in the hostel. Fearing for her safety, she fled overnight, leaving behind her belongings.
She also alleged that his followers later came to her home, armed with her contact information, until her father intervened.
Police records indicate Chaitanyananda faced previous molestation complaints in 2009 and 2016, allegedly evading action due to his influence.
In the current case, 17 women filed complaints in August 2025. Initially believed to be in London, investigators later traced him to Agra. He briefly sought anticipatory bail from the Delhi High Court before withdrawing the plea.
Delhi Police have since launched searches across Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan, issuing a Lookout Circular to prevent him from leaving the country. Chaitanyananda remains untraceable.
