What Rahul Gandhi, BJP leaders said on PM Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his 75th birthday on Wednesday, September 17, leaders from both the ruling party and the Opposition extended greetings, lauding his leadership and wishing him good health.
President Droupadi Murmu praised Modi for fostering “a culture of achieving great goals” and prayed for his continued health and happiness.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted Modi’s visionary leadership and dedication, saying he has strengthened India globally and prayed for his long life and energy to continue driving national progress.
Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi also sent birthday wishes. Kharge wished Modi good health and a long life, while Gandhi tweeted: “Wishing Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji a happy birthday and good health.” Congress MP Shashi Tharoor added his greetings, wishing Modi continued success in serving the nation.
NCP leader Sharad Pawar expressed hope for the country’s progress under Modi’s guidance, while Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman lauded his commitment to national interests and leadership that has provided stability and progress.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted Modi’s contributions to the capital, including ₹1.25 lakh crore spent on expressways and roads, a 400 km Metro network, and grants for Yamuna cleaning and sanitation.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal commended Modi’s lifelong dedication to public service and efforts to ensure welfare schemes reach all citizens.
The BJP marked Modi’s 75th birthday with nationwide blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns, and exhibitions. A 15-day Seva Pakhwada campaign is also underway to celebrate the occasion.
