After smashing records at the box office, Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara is set for its digital debut—two months after its theatrical release. Starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film has become the highest-grossing romantic drama in Indian cinema and the most successful debut-led film ever.

Netflix premiere
Netflix on Thursday announced that Saiyaara will begin streaming globally across 190 countries from Friday, September 12.

Director Mohit Suri said he was thrilled about the film’s new journey:

Saiyaara will always be very special for me. The way audiences embraced it in theatres globally was incredible. As it begins streaming on Netflix, I’m excited that more people will get to discover Krish and Vaani’s love story.”

Monika Shergill, Vice-President, Content, Netflix India, called the film “a cultural phenomenon.” She said, “It has given audiences unforgettable music and a deeply touching story. Now, streaming on Netflix, it will connect with even more people worldwide.”

About the film
Saiyaara tells the story of Krish, an impulsive singer (Ahaan), who falls in love with journalist-turned-songwriter Vaani (Aneet). Their romance faces upheaval when she is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s.

The film was praised for its performances, emotional depth, and music. Its title track became a global chartbuster, breaking into the Billboard Hot 200 Top 10. At the box office, Saiyaara earned ₹329 crore net in India and grossed ₹570 crore worldwide, surpassing blockbusters like Ek Tha Tiger.

Produced by Akshay Widhani for Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara now heads to a global audience on Netflix.
