Karisma Kapoor’s Children Allege Stepmom Priya Kapur ‘Forged’ Will; Claim Late Father Sunjay Kapur Assured Them of Inheritance

The dispute over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s estate has taken a contentious turn, with his children from actor Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and Kiaan, accusing his widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur, of attempting to forge his will and exclude them from their rightful inheritance. The siblings, along with Karisma, have approached the Delhi High Court against Priya and three others, seeking access to their share of their father’s assets.

Allegations of Forgery

In their civil suit, Samaira and Kiaan allege that Priya, Sunjay’s third wife whom he married in 2017, tried to manipulate his will to gain full control over the estate. Karisma and Sunjay were married from 2003 to 2016, and their two children were born in 2005 and 2011.

The complaint states that the children do not have complete information about their father’s assets at the time of his death and question the authenticity of the will presented by Priya, dated March 21, 2025. They allege that Priya initially denied the existence of any will before producing this document.

Sunjay Kapur’s Assurances to His Children

According to the lawsuit, Sunjay had assured Samaira and Kiaan of their financial security. He had reportedly initiated business ventures in their names, acquired assets personally and through corporate entities, and listed them as beneficiaries of the family trust. The siblings claim Priya concealed details and restricted their access to key trust and asset documents after his death.

About Sunjay Kapur

Sunjay Kapur, who passed away in June 2025 in London due to a heart attack, was the founder and chairman of Sona Comstar, a leading global auto manufacturer. His estate is estimated to be worth around ₹30,000 crore.

The children performed his final rites, with Kiaan lighting the funeral pyre at Lodhi Cremation Ground on June 19. They allege that Priya began limiting their access to the estate’s financial assets soon after his passing, triggering the ongoing legal battle.
