On the final day of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 group stage, defending two-time champions Australia and three-time winners Iran secured perfect 3-0 records to book direct berths in the quarterfinals.

Australia sealed the top spot in Group A with a commanding 110–82 win over Qatar at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah on Sunday night. The Boomers will face the winner of Monday’s Saudi Arabia–Philippines qualification matchup when the quarterfinals begin Wednesday.

In Group B, Iran overcame a sluggish first half to dominate Syria 82–43, completing their sweep. They will meet the winner of Chinese Taipei vs. Jordan in the last eight. Syria exited the tournament winless at 0–3 after earlier losses to Japan and Guam.

Elsewhere Sunday, Japan lit up from long range to rout Guam 102–63 and lock in second place in Group B, advancing to the final phase. South Korea topped Lebanon 97–86, clinching the No. 2 seed in Group A and setting up a qualification game against Guam.

Monday’s other qualifier pits Chinese Taipei against Jordan. Chinese Taipei (2–1) finished second in Group D after wins over the Philippines and Iraq but a loss to New Zealand. Jordan (1–2) placed third in Group C, with their lone win coming against India.
