Delhi Rains: Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet Issue Travel Advisories Amid Weather Disruptions
As heavy rains and gusty winds swept across parts of Delhi on Tuesday morning, several airlines issued travel advisories, cautioning passengers about potential flight delays and disruptions.
Air India urged passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport, citing weather-related delays.
“#TravelAdvisory: Gusty wind and rain may impact flight operations to and from Delhi this morning,” the airline posted on X. “Please check your flight status and allow extra travel time.”
IndiGo also warned travelers of possible delays due to the downpour and slower traffic en route to the airport.
“While we can’t control the skies, we’re doing everything possible to keep your journey steady on the ground,” the airline said in a statement, urging flyers to plan ahead.
SpiceJet added that adverse weather conditions were affecting both Delhi (DEL) and Dharamshala (DHM).
“All departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected,” the airline said, advising passengers to check updates on its website.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted an increase in rain intensity by the afternoon, with a wet spell likely to persist until August 3. The regional Met Centre predicted generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall throughout the week.
Visuals shared by ANI showed drenched commuters navigating waterlogged streets and battling traffic delays across the capital. Monday’s persistent showers had already led to flooding in multiple areas, exacerbating traffic congestion.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious and plan travel accordingly as the monsoon continues to impact the region.
