Tauseef, the prime suspect in the brazen killing of gangster Chandan Mishra inside Patna’s Paras Hospital ICU, had cultivated an online persona inspired by Bollywood gangster tropes, NDTV reported.
On YouTube, he uploaded over 100 short videos—many featuring dramatic background music, gritty voiceovers, and visuals of him posing with friends or cruising through the city. In one particularly disturbing video, he appears behind the wheel of a car with a baby on his lap. His Facebook bio reads: “Jis jungle me tum sher bane ghoomte ho, us jungle ke bekhauf shikari hai hum” (In the jungle where you roam like a lion, I am the fearless hunter).
CCTV footage from inside Paras Hospital captured the chilling moments of the attack. Five men can be seen silently entering a corridor, led by Tauseef—his shirt untucked, collar loose, and gun in hand. Moments later, Chandan Mishra was shot dead inside the ICU.
While the other assailants fled the scene after opening fire, Tauseef is seen walking out with the same unhurried gait he had on entry, underscoring the calculated nature of the hit.
Patna Police identified all five attackers within hours. Six suspects have since been arrested from Patna and Buxar, and multiple raids are ongoing at locations connected to the notorious “Sheru gang,” believed to be behind the execution-style killing.
Chandan Mishra had a long criminal record, with 24 cases against him, including more than a dozen for murder. He was serving a sentence but had been granted medical parole at the time of the attack.
According to police sources, the killing appears to be the fallout of a longstanding gang rivalry. Chandan and Sheru, once allies, reportedly had a major fallout while incarcerated in Bhagalpur jail. Although Chandan later distanced himself from Sheru’s gang, he allegedly continued to operate under its name—a move that may have sealed his fate.
