Sensex, Nifty flat; Smallcaps gain; IndusInd up 5%, Hindustan Zinc down 6%
Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading flat and treading cautiously on Tuesday as missile attacks between Iran and Israel intensified. Cross-border strikes continued for a fifth straight day amid reports that Israeli airstrikes had damaged Iran’s underground uranium enrichment facility at Natanz. Oil prices surged 4 per cent overnight.
Around 10:40 AM, Sensex was at 81,620, up 37 points or 0.05 per cent and Nifty50 was at 24,872.6, up 19 points or 0.08 per cent.
IndusInd Bank, Maruti Suzuki, M&M, HCL Tech, Titan, Tech M, TCS, and Asian Paints were the top Sensex gainers today, rising up to 5 per cent.
On the flipside, Kotak Bank, Power Grid, NTPC, Adani Ports, and HDFC Bank were the top losers, down up to 0.1 per cent.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index and the Nifty SmallCap index were trading 0.05 per cent lower and 0.16 per cent higher, respectively.
Among sectors, the Nifty Auto index gained 0.96 per cent, followed by the Nifty Realty index (up 0.43 per cent). Conversely, Nifty IT and Metal fell 0.52 per cent and 0.28 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, Arisinfra Solutions IPO will open for public subscription today, Wednesday, June 18. At the upper end, the tech-driven construction material supplier seeks to raise ₹499.60 crore from the public offering.
