36 Amarnath Pilgrims Injured as Bus Rams Stationary Vehicles During Halt in J&K’s Ramban
At least 36 Amarnath pilgrims were injured on Saturday morning when a bus, part of a convoy heading to the Amarnath shrine, crashed into four stationary buses in the Chanderkote area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district.
The incident occurred as the convoy had paused for a scheduled breakfast halt. According to Ramban SSP Kulbir Singh, one of the buses failed to brake in time and rear-ended the stationary vehicles, triggering a chain collision.
“Most of the injuries are minor, and many pilgrims opted to continue their yatra after receiving first aid,” Singh said. However, he noted that three to four individuals may not be able to proceed due to the extent of their injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, while medical teams remain on-site to provide support to the injured.
